Instead of Cramming Knowledge, Rely on Primary School Math Enrichment

Have you ever attempted to look at the world through a child’s eyes? To see their fascination with a toy. To try and see their sense of humor or why a silly stuffed animal may cause them to feel scared? A child’s mind is a fascinating place. It is filled with wonder. Every moment of every day can be a learning experience. As parents, we take advantage of it when they are infants and toddlers. We put a lot of effort into showing them how this works or pointing out objects of interest. But, when it comes to school skills, we say simply, learn it. Instead of cramming this knowledge in, we should make it fun as well. This is why you should rely on primary school math enrichment rather than steal the fun out learning.
When was the last time your child got a high-five for getting a math problem right? Did they get a hug for mastering a spelling test? Did they count marbles or add red cars to blue cars? We often do this type of stuff when they are two or three, just exploring numbers or letters. Then, we stop. They do not stop. We do. We notice their evolving skills less while expecting them to do more.
Schools today are all about the push. Learn this, master this skill, and get it done today cause tomorrow we will do something else. You must learn it as well. Its an endless circle of cramming knowledge in, hoping something will stick. Some knowledge will and some won’t.
Shouldn’t we focus on one skill before telling them to learn more? Shouldn’t we make it fun so that they actually want to learn? These are the questions that schools no longer consider. Its all about the push. Before primary school begins kids are encouraged to be adding subtracting, reading, writing, and more. Where is the fun in that? In being a child?
The goal of primary school math enrichment programs is to put the fun back in learning. It allows children to learn with toys, games, and hands-on experiences. The focus is on math, but it can enable them to see the fun in many other areas of study. This alone will make them want to do more.
